Chinese Palace

A new Chinese Restaurant was part of the overhaul of the Great Northern Hotel in Abbott St. Alternate Constructions were engage to fitout this 300 seat Restaurant and renovate the hotel at the same time.

Works included grease traps and exhaust canopies for the new kitchen. Gas, plumbing, electrical and air conditioning trades were involved.

Whilst undertaking this work a section of footpath along the Abbott Street frontage was raised by Alternate Constructions and a shaft for the new lift to service the hotel on the upper floors constructed.

New fire stairs were installed, lobbies updated and ramps installed to the lift.

The large new bar and restaurant are a welcome change to this part of Abbott St, providing a facility in a class of its own.
